Webinar – Being your best self

April 13, 2022 by Allison Alford Leave a Comment

Who hasn’t experienced worry or stress about the unknown future ahead? These concerns are especially salient for MBA students embarking on a new path. While you may feel a lot of excitement about future life transitions, it is also normal to feel heavier emotions. When those fears and worries become persistent or hard to shake, this anxiety can become a distraction.

In this webinar, you will hear about the impact of major life transitions on one’s psychological experience, define and identify negative emotions like anxiety, and learn tips for managing those concerns. Being your best self means doing the “inner work” on quieting your mind from intrusive thoughts. Armed with this practical knowledge, you can conquer your anxious thoughts (or at least keep them at bay), so you are prepared for the big, exciting, scary things ahead in your career and ready to be your best self in the workplace.

This activity addresses the following Texas MBA+ Leadership Framework elements:

  • Character
  • Authenticity
  • Skill 1.1: Self-awareness – strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies as a leader
